Purpose of the fund: The primary purpose of the Fund shall be to assist young people in their pursuit of an education by awarding a scholarship to a deserving youth pursuing a degree in the medical field.
Background: “For our 50th wedding anniversary, I wanted to give Eleanor a meaningful gift that would last a long time. I decided on establishing a scholarship in her name. She was very pleased with the idea. Since she was a Registered Medical Technician, it was fitting to have recipients be in the medical field.” ~ George Tillquist

Residents of the city of Ventura currently enrolled in Ventura College or CSU-Channel Islands in a medical program and continuing there OR transferring from Ventura College or CSU-Channel Islands to a medical program at a public 4-year college or university in the state of California.
Other Special Requirements
Must be a resident of the city of Ventura currently attending Ventura College or CSU-Channel Islands to pursue degree in a medically-related or health field or students enrolled at either Ventura College or CSU-Channel Islands who are transferring to a medical program at a public r-year college or University in the state of California. Applicants must demonstrate significant community service. Preference will be given to female applicants.
