Purpose of the fund: The primary purpose of the Fund is to continue the legacy of Bob Benedetto's interest in social work and social justice issues by assisting young people in their pursuit of an education through a scholarship to a deserving person
Background: This fund was established to carry on the legacy of Bob Benedetto, whotaught his family to care for those less fortunate. The Benedetto family hosts a 5K run every year to support both this fund and a scholarship fund, also set up in Bob’s memory. The family chose to work with VCCF because “it is a prestigious investment group”.

College undergraduate from Ventura County currently enrolled in a BSW program at an accredited college or university, or college graduate or college senior from Ventura County who is enrolled as a candidate for a Master’s level degree in Social Work at an accredited college or university. Essay must address student’s reasons for pursuing a degree in social work and share future plans once student finishes his/her studies.
