Tina Knight

Tina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Social Psychology.  Tina has been with the Ventura County Community Foundation (VCCF) since 2002.  Starting as the Director of Grants & Scholarships, she is now the Vice President for Programs & Grants, where she oversees the distribution of over $4.9 million in grants annually.  In addition to providing program development and strategic oversight of VCCF’s grantmaking programs, Tina also serves as the Program Officer for the Women’s Legacy Fund, the Community Response Fund, the Special & Urgent Needs Fund, the Martin V. & Martha K. Smith Foundation (a supporting organization) and a variety of other VCCF funds and programs.

Prior to coming to VCCF, her career focused on providing education and training for public health professionals from developing countries.  She was the Department Administrator for the Department of International Health at Boston University and later became the Program Manager for the Management and Finance Methods for International and Health certificate program specifically designed for mid-career public health professionals from developing countries.  Later, Tina became the Hepatitis C in Egypt Project Manager and the Program & Finance Director for Sustainable Sciences Institute, a nonprofit organization that provides training, education, grants and resources for infectious disease researchers in developing countries.  Tina volunteered for three months in Kosovo during the Kosovo crisis in 1999 and has traveled extensively for both work and pleasure.
