Kathy established K2 Consulting Group after more than 26 years of extensive, hands-on experience in executive positions with the YMCAs of Metropolitan Los Angeles and Chicago and National Louis University – all large multi-site and multi-state organizations. Kathy defined, structured and executed marketing and philanthropic campaigns that achieved triple digit increases in philanthropic income and volunteer participation. She worked with the CEO and governance committees to build the boards of these organizations in stature, composition and engagement.

As a consultant, Kathy works as a strategist, coach, facilitator and planner. She helps organizations see beyond their perceived boundaries and realize robust revenue growth. Through qualitative research methods, she can distill complex situations and perceived obstacles into plans of action. Kathy is skilled at building the support and involvement of Board members, staff and volunteers through active listening and exchange of ideas. Known for her energy, drive, passion and “can do” attitude, she approaches each organization with a fresh perspective and approach.

Kathy holds a Bachelor’s degree in political science from University of California Los Angeles, and spent a year of study in Mexico City and has retained her Spanish fluency. She is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) and a member of the board of Washington D.C. based Association Foundation Group (AFG), an active member of Board Source, a member of the Executive Committee of the Association of Philanthropic Counsel (APC), and a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).
