Ilana Ormond
Ventura County Community Foundation
Ilana R. Ormond began her nonprofit career nearly twenty years ago as the Coordinator of Major Gifts for the American Film Institute. In 1992, she was named Gift Planning Coordinator for the Motion Picture & Television Fund Foundation, where she developed the organization’s first planned giving program. Three years later, she joined the staff of the National Jewish Medical & Research Center, creating a Major and Planned Gifts Program to serve the western United States. In 1999, Ilana joined the Los Angeles Jewish Home for the Aging and spent the next eight years as its Director of Planned Giving, expanding the existing effort into a $45 million program.
Ilana taught Planned Giving for the University of Southern California/Hebrew Union College Master’s Program from 1999-2007 and has served as a guest speaker for several fundraising events. A board member of the Planned Giving Round Table of Southern California since 1992, she served as President in 2002 and chaired the Western Regional Planned Giving Conference in 2004. She has served on the Communications Committee for the National Committee on Planned Giving and on a variety of committees for National Philanthropy Day in Los Angeles.
Ilana is currently the Director of Planned Giving for the Ventura County Community Foundation, where she stewards the Planned Giving Initiative and is a faculty member of the Center for Nonprofit Leadership. She is currently serving as a member of the board of the Planned Giving Council of Ventura County. Ilana is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara and lives in Thousand Oaks with her husband and two children.
