Colleen Cason is an award-winning newspaper journalist who has worn hats as a writer, reporter, editor, columnist and multimedia content producer in her more than 30-year career.
She currently serves as communications and marketing director for the Ventura County Community Foundation.
For the past 14 years, she has written a general-interest column for the Ventura County Star, which helped her hone the craft of persuasive mass-media writing. Her column has won five national and state writing awards.
Colleen free-lances for publications produced by the Ventura County Farm Bureau, Community Memorial Hospital and California Lutheran University.
She serves as adviser to the Echo, the California Lutheran University student newspaper.
