I believe the Civic Alliance is important to the future of Ventura County because the Alliance is the only public-interest organization in the county that encompasses the interests of individuals and groups representing the three Es of sustainability – economy, environment and social equity – in achieving solutions to regional problems.
I have been a member of the Alliance for 9 years. The most important thing I have learned about Ventura County as a member of the Alliance is the need for …
- citizen participation in solving regional problems
- cities to look at issues from a regional perspective as well as from individual cities’ perspective
- all areas of the county, both east and west, to become involved in regional solutions.
Why should you join the Alliance as a steering committee or general member?
The Civic Alliance needs broad citizen engagement to be successful. Becoming a member offers an opportunity for individuals to serve the county in a way that will improve the lives of both present and future residents.
