Guidelines for writing an op-ed on how the arts have transformed your life:

The purpose of the op-ed, or essay, is to highlight how—and perhaps when if there is a specific event or moment in time—the arts impacted your life personally.

The piece should be 500-700 words told as a personal story, thus in the first person. Remember, you are sharing something with a wider audience about the transformative power of the arts in your life.  What happened?  What changed? Your review of the op-eds already published will provide models to follow.

Submissions will go to a review committee. Those accepted are subject to editing.  Publication plans contemplate various print and online sources, including the VCCF ArtsLIVE website.
