| PPIC Statewide Survey: Californians and Their Government
Two weeks before the June primary, just over half of likely voters say they favor a proposition to impose an additional $1 tax on cigarettes-a big decline in support since March. Most say they will vote for a measure to alter legislative term limits. (6/1) Glass Pockets: Bringing Transparency to the World of Philanthropy Glasspockets is designed to encourage greater foundation transparency by offering helpful examples from the field, self-assessment tools and more. Through this initiative, the Foundation Center is encouraging foundations to be more open in their own communications and help increase the collective understanding of foundation transparency and accountability in an online world. (6/1) Water and the California Economy California's economy can grow and prosper despite droughts and water shortages caused by a changing climate-but only if threats to the water system are addressed now. So far, innovative water management has supported the needs of a growing population but serious concerns remain, including water supply reliability and declining groundwater basins. (6/1) |
