Eligibility
Organizations applying for the 2009 Grant cycle were asked to consider the following:
- Is your organization a 501(c)(3)-designated non-profit or does it have a non-profit agency serving as fiscal sponsor?
[A Fiscal Sponsor is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that agrees to be responsible for the fiscal management of another organization that does not have its own tax-exemption with the Internal Revenue Service.]
- Does your organization carry out its work in Ventura County?
[Organizations need not be headquartered in Ventura County, but the proposed activities must be focused in Ventura County and show evidence of VC leadership engagement and community support.]
- Is your project using a community organizing approach to work towards systemic social change in Ventura County?
- Does your project engage people typically absent from decision-making tables to come together to jointly bring about positive community-level social change?
If you answered "NO" to one of those questions, you should explore other funding options. If you have any questions, please contact the VCCF Grants Staff listed below.
