Destino is the bridge in Ventura County to a stronger, well informed and involved Latino community.
“It is important to our community that we reach the next level so we can effectively meet the needs of Ventura County Hispanics. We are within reaching distance of that goal, but we need everyone's help to get there."
—Danny Villanueva, Destino Fund Founder
Destino: The Hispanic Legacy Fund at VCCF was launched in 1996 as the only permanent endowment of its kind dedicated to meeting the needs of Ventura County Latinos and strengthening the countywide Latino community. Because of our generous donors, this endowment has grown consistently over the past decade, now approaching $1 million.
To date, Destino has awarded grants totaling over $838,217, directly impacting the lives of over 36,000 local Latinos of all ages through 114 grants to 46 community organizations that provide the needed services.
“A Destino grant sponsored 22
financial education and empowerment
workshops for us that attracted 300
attendees. One woman had been
victimized by a dishonest mortgage
broker who’d taken advantage of her
language barrier. Thanks to the advice
from our Destino-funded seminar, she
saved her home from foreclosure.”
—El Concilio del Condado de Ventura, Oxnard
