Make a Difference for the Future

Join those whose legacies at VCCF made a lasting difference in Ventura County Jim Basile’s legacy guarantees $300,000 per year in scholarship funds to Ventura County students wishing to attend a public college or university in California. For individual students, that means $5,000 per year-renewable for 4 years. Muriel Robinson’s legacy provides over $25,000 annually in grants through our Women’s Legacy Fund, designated for nonprofits assisting women confronting domestic violence and abuse.

The Legacy Society recognizes all individuals who have named the Ventura County Community Foundation or a fund at VCCF as a beneficiary through their estate plans or specific planned gifts. We are honored to serve as the steward of these legacies, ensuring that our donors’ wishes are maintained in perpetuity, and that their gifts will benefit Ventura County for generations to come.

What type of legacy would YOU like to leave in your community?
The Ventura County Community Foundation is a natural partner for creating lasting legacies. As the steward of philanthropy in Ventura County, we can ensure your wishes are maintained in perpetuity, and that your gift will benefit generations to come in ways that are important to you.

Partnering for the Future
VCCF offers a variety of options that enable you to specify the type of legacy you wish to leave. Designated funds can perpetuate your name or the names of loved ones and can provide grants annually to your favorite cause or local nonprofit. Scholarship funds can assist a student hoping to attend college, and can be designed with any criteria you choose. Or you can make your donor advised fund permanent, engaging your children and grandchildren in favored causes.

The “Field of Interest” funds at VCCF offer the opportunity to join others in support of larger causes important to our community. You may choose to establish your legacy within our Women’s Legacy, Arts, Farmworking Housing, Heritage or Destino Funds. You may also wish to support the work of the Community Foundation through our Cornerstone Endowment, so that we may continue our role in Ventura County well into the Future.

VCCF has demonstrated its capacity for stewarding legacies for over two decades. In partnering with us, you demonstrate your own willingness to support our community and the causes special to you. We would be privileged to serve as the steward of your legacy.

The VCCF Legacy Society
We are proud to honor the many individuals who have chosen to leave their legacies with VCCF through membership in our Legacy Society. Members of the Society have included VCCF in their estate plans through a variety of options, including bequests, life insurance plans, and lifetime income gifts such as charitable gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts.

If you have included VCCF in your estate plans, we would be delighted to welcome you as a member of our Legacy Society.
