The YOLO Fund
“You Only Live Once”
Established by: Laura Neff
Purpose of the fund: To provide grants for general charitable purposes with an initial priority to seek donations from the wider community to support organizations around the world that are making a difference, and which Laura Neff has demonstrated through her work experience as being valid organizations with projects worthy of support.
About the Project:
My name is Laura Neff. I am from Oak Park, California and I am a recent graduate of UCLA with a degree in Women’s Studies. While at UCLA, I researched education for young women in Zambia, which, coupled with my life-long desire to help those less fortunate, has led me to this journey. I am currently on a five-month backpacking trip through Europe and Africa. While in Africa I will be volunteering at orphanages and schools. I will also be conducting research to assess their specific needs and determine the funding necessary to meet them.
The YOLO Project is more than just a charity; it's a way of living. It's about being a good person, helping others, and performing random acts of kindness. My hope for this project is to encourage everyone to live life to the absolute fullest. That means taking risks, accepting challenges, and going on adventures.
My current goal is to raise money to help the orphanages I will be volunteering for and to eventually raise enough funds to open an orphanage that serves less fortunate children in an impoverished country.
