Purpose of the fund: The primary purpose of the Fund shall be for general charitable purposes to support emerging nonprofit organizations and to strengthen and/or launch new projects.
Background: Gary E. Erickson is the founder, president and CEO of The Erickson Group which provides consulting services to the non-profit community. He has over 35 years experience working with community-based non-profit organizations, including the United Way of Los Angeles and the California Medical Center Foundation. Gary created this fund to respond to community needs and to help emerging not-for-profits develop. According to Gary, this cause is important to him because “it is family tradition to work within the community.” He decided to work with VCCF because “it offers a careful stewardship and is involved in addressing key community issues. An endowment fund provides our family, including two sons, with a vehicle to provide long term support for the community.
