 Dr. Maxine Crossley Endowment Fund

Purpose of the fund: The primary purpose of the Fund shall be to provide support to Dean Triggs School to carry out its role and mission as described by its Bylaws.
Background: Joseph P. Brown is a fifth generation Californian who came to the Conejo Valley over 50 years ago as a salesman for the Jannss Corporation. He first became interested in community service, he said, “when my mother gave me a Community Chest can and sent me to knock on doors asking for donations.” That early training was reinforced by the Janss family. “they expected the people working for them to be involved in community activities,” notes Brown. “They set a strong example.” Mr. Brown displayed how well he learned from these examples when he this fund to provide annual support for field trips for the severely handicapped children at the Dean Triggs School. He named the fund in honor of the school’s principal, who spent most of her career caring for these children.
