MISSION-The primary purpose of the Fund shall be to provide resources to meet the needs of the Ventura County Latino community.
DESTINO: The Hispanic Legacy Fund was established in 1996 by local residents in partnership with the Ventura County Community Foundation, dedicated to meeting the needs and creating philanthropic and leadership opportunities for Latinos in Ventura County.
Destino is building a permanent source of funds for Latino issues, whereby each year the earnings from the Destino Fund can be used to award grants. As the only endowment fund dedicated to meeting the needs of the Latino community in Ventura County, Destino provides grants to local nonprofit organizations through a grant making process that involves members of the community in new roles as grant makers.
History of the Fund “It is important to our community that we reach the next level so we can effectively meet the needs of Ventura County Hispanics. We are within reaching distance of that goal, but we need everyone's help to get there."- Danny Villanueva, Destino Fund Founder

VENTURA COUNTY LATINO HEALTH NEEDS ASSESSMENT
In 2003, Destino: The Hispanic Legacy Fund received a generous grant from The California Endowment to focus its grantmaking and community education activities in addressing high priority issues for Ventura County's Latino community. As a first step, Destino has conducted a health needs assessment that exclusively focuses on Ventura County's Latino population.
