Purpose of the fund: The primary purpose of the Fund shall be to target where the needs are greatest and for future community needs that VCCF has no way of anticipating today.

Background: Mr. Fairburn, son of a Columbia University teacher, was born in New York City. Mrs. Fairburn’s parents were professors at St. Paul’s College in Tarsus, Turkey, where she was born. Mr. and Mrs. Fairburn retired to Ojai, read voraciously, and believed fervently that the finest heritage one can leave children is an education.
