Colleen gets the word out about VCCF’s impact in Ventura County through news releases, the Highlights magazine, the annual report as well as through social media. She writes and edits VCCF publications and prepares scripts for radio and video.

Colleen is charged with crafting a media and marketing plan for the Community Foundation and making sure it succeeds on a day-to-day basis.

A graduate of Indiana University, Colleen started working at VCCF as a consultant in 2008 and became a staff member in October 2011. Prior to joining the VCCF staff, she was a senior reporter with the Ventura County Star. She continues to write the weekly Cason Point column for the Star. Colleen has taught journalism at California Lutheran University.

Colleen says of her job, “My first exposure to the Community Foundation was through its scholarship program, and I continue to be awed by the talented and dedicated students whose dreams of a college education come true through the generosity of VCCF donors.”
